Cough...sniff, wheeze, sneeze...

Click to Mix and Solve

You know how it is this time of year. Colds, flus and other nasty viruses floating around. The coughing, wheezing, sneezing gotta drink a bottle of nyquil winter nights are definitely upon us. Is there anything worse than having the kids call you Rudolph or your husband asking you to please put a paper bag over your head so he doesn't have to look at your baggy eyes, matted hair and the mucus running out of your nose?

Well, yes. Yes, there is. It's the internet's own Blogging Virus, which knows no boundaries or borders. There are no vaccinations; it runs rampant year 'round, zig zagging it's way at lightening speed across the globe, infecting unsuspecting bloggers when they least expect it. Last year I recall having come in contact with it at least 4 times, each time it demanded that I post 7 things people didn't know about me. Come on now, I'm a blogger! What secrets are kept? I kiss and tell daily! You've seen me at my worst...from my 8 second ride on Jet to the nasty bruises left by Sandy.

Thankfully that virus ran it's course and we all appear to be immune now... Or are we? I'm just a little bored today, so I'm about to infect a few people. Are you ready? Here's what I want to know:

1) Where did you go riding this week?
2) Your most embarrassing moment on horseback.
3) What's your favorite piece of tack?
4) Do you collect anything horsey?
5) What's your least favorite aspect of horse ownership?

Naturally, I expect photos to go along with this virus.

Now...who to infect? Let's see... How about:

Karyn from BlackFyre Farms
Linda at Beautiful Mustang
Karen at Life At The Roughstring

The rules are simple enough...just answer the questions honestly, then pass the virus on to someone else. After all, what's the fun of getting sick if you can't make someone else just as miserable as yourself?

Okay, so.. I'm none of the mentioned people. But I've been keeping tabs on your blog for several months now and I must admit a certain addiction to quizzes and surveys, so I wanted to answer your questions anyway. =]

1) Where did you go riding this week?
My own kids haven't had to haul me around at all this week as it's freezing cold and snowing out there. But I work at a barn and I put in a little time in the indoor arena on a newbie this week. He was an angel. <3

2) Your most embarrassing moment on horseback.
I don't know that I've ever been embarrassed while on a horse... It's the falling off that gets me. xD

3) What's your favorite piece of tack?
I adore my saddle. But I'd have to say my favorite piece of tack in general is the breast collar. Let's face it... they're hawt. xP

4) Do you collect anything horsey?
I used to collect Grand Champions as a little girl. =]

5) What's your least favorite aspect of horse ownership?
Feeding in the frigid winter temperatures. Brrr. o.o

Ugh this is like TAG, you're IT, lolol....

OK since I am Karyn from BlackFyre Farms and proudly owned by the Silly Pony Gang here goes my answers:

1) Where did you go riding this week?

Arlington,WA at Ken Rock Equestrian Center where my 4 yr old gelding Emmerson is hanging out gaining some training.

2) Your most embarrassing moment on horseback.

Hmmmmmm, that one is rather embarassing, it was MANY moons ago now back when I was a 17 yr old girl who looked GOOD riding her gelding down the road in shorts and a binki top bareback.... My bikini top neck string BROKE while trotting down the side of one of the busiest roads in the area..Thankfully my friend was riding with me and had a safety pin in her pocket....

Yup that's pretty embarassing, but what was almost worst, was no one seemed to notice the lack of, um, top, lolol.

3) What's your favorite piece of tack?

Saddle.. I love the craftmanship in a good saddle, any kind of saddle, English and Western adn Aussie.

4) Do you collect anything horsey?

Well I seem to collect horse feed bills, lolol.... I love horse related baseball caps.

5) What's your least favorite aspect of horse ownership?

Cleaning manure out of paddocks when it's pouring down rain and dark in the morning. Conversly, I don't mind cleaning stalls.

Hey, MiKael...at least I didn't send it your way :) And you gotta admit, I got hit a lot last year, both here and Carpenter Creek!

Karyn, thanks for playing...now go to your blog and post those answers, then pass your virus on to three more unsuspecting bloggers :)

Duckie...nothing like a good virus to pull folks out or lurkdom, eh? Glad to have you aboard and I agree, it's after you hit the ground that you find yourself the most embarrassed!

I lived on a ranch when I was small, but I haven't ridden for years.

Anyway hope you're feeling better on the shores of Carpenter Creek.
