Home...

Four days behind the wheel is a long time! I'd hoped to be blogging from the road for you, but obviously that didn't happen. We were too tired on the first night, then had no connection the next two nights. And while we managed to get home at a decent hour yesterday, I didn't log on until this morning.

Sandy was undoubtedly the homeliest of the horses there. His head is rather hammer shaped, he's beaten up and battle scared, he's lacking some hip length and a bit on the thin side. What he lacks in outward beauty, he makes up for in attitude. He's attentive, not super spooky, just a bit shy. He ate hay from my arms at breakfast time this morning. He's curious and watchful.
He made the trip well enough. He was quiet in the trailer, but managed to take a hunk of hair off his face at some point during the trip. A nice, ugly bald spot over an inch wide and six inches long now graces the center of his face.

I'd love to post photos...but Blogger is playing games with me and refusing to load. I'll try again later. Perhaps a clickable link will work?

Welcome Back Tracey! Was getting worried since we had not heard from you...

Sandy is a handsome fellow- and he will pick up and do well with you. ;)

See, you already have him eating hay out of your arms... Bet he makes great progress in the days to come!

I don't think he's "homely" at all! He is a very good looking boy from the photo. Good luck with him, I am so excited for you!

Yay, welcome back Tracey! And so pleased to meet your Speck Of Sand - the name suits him perfectly.

I'm with everyone else, I don't think Sandy is "homely" at all, he looks like a very pretty pony to me! I like his bright bay colouring & looooong black mane & tail. Grooming, good food & TLC will do wonders of course. Has he sniffed out the girls yet?

Since you have him eating out of your hand already I bet you'll make a great partnership.

Three cheers for Tracey & welcome Sandy!

I"m glad that the trip went safely. If a little missing hair on his face is the most of the trouble, you had a good trip. Looking forward to how it all goes.
