Someone from the BLM read my blog yesterday. Dog gone it. Now they know I'm secretly harboring horses out there. Well, you know what that means. Gotta go gather them all up and move them home with me! Oh, City Boy...I have the BESTEST news...
Somehow I just don't envision City Boy bubbling over with enthusiasm.... :)
If you were to adopt an older stallion (like that GORGEOUS! hunk of "Quarter Horse" chestnut in the photo, how long after gelding would they start to actually act like a gelding?
That pretty pony, as it turns out, was gathered last year but set free to procreate. He's hanging with the bachelors right now, but hopefully he'll find a woman before the next gather so we can get an offspring or two.
I think the other colt is his little brother...they spend a lot of time together. Oddly enough, the yearling hasn't got a brand, so he must have missed the truck last year as a weanling. He's almost too friendly, though, and wanted very badly to come up and make physical contact this past weekend. Deb had to shoo him away with her hat, but he kept coming back to her. He was so close to me that my camera wouldn't focus...he wanted to climb right into my lens!
