Darling Turns 15

Darling is 15 today. Legally, the child is old enough to get her drivers permit.

EEEEK!

Surely that cannot be! Thankfully, Darling is happier on the back of a horse than behind the wheel. And it's a good thing, too. Have you seen her push a shopping car? Wheels are definitely not her thing...

What is her thing, however, is video. I found this one this morning on youtube and thought I'd share. I sure hope she doesn't mind! Happy Birthday, Darling!

Kara, thank you. There are days that she amazes me; she's growing up and turning into a very talented young woman.

Karen, anytime you need a good cry I'll be sure to help provide!

Thanks Lisa! (Or...Kevin?)

Kristi, she got to ride Sandy, and today she loped circles in the arena :)

Getting to ride a good horse sounds like a pretty good birthday to me!

Actually you have 6 more months before she can get her drivers permit, then she has to take driver's Ed and drive so many hours in 6 months before she can apply for her probationary driver's lisence. You have some time, don't sweat it. :)

Lovely video.

Happy Birthday Darling!

6 more months? When did they move the date back? When the Geek Boy was learning, they wanted those kids out there for a full year before getting their license. Not that she's in a hurry; she said she'll drive the horse instead :)

I just went through this last year with my son. They have to be 15 and one half years old to even apply for a permit. Driver's Ed is mandatory too. Plus while in DE they have to drive so many hours with another adult liscenced driver. After their 6 months is up, DE is passed, they can then go in and take the tests for their liscence. However, for the first 6 months they can only drive by themselves or with an adult. There's more, they made all sorts of new rules.

Ok, well that settles it--Sandy can never, ever, ever leave your house. Maybe when Darling leaves he can go with her, but not until then. What horse woman doesn't want a daughter who creates video odes to their favorite horse? You're living the dream, lady!

I LOVED the opening shot of her boots followed by his hooves. That was awesome.
