Have you ever had one of those Looney Tunes moments? You know, where you suddenly find your butt isn't exactly where you though you'd left it, such as planted deeply in the seat of your saddle? Instead you're finding hang time somewhere out there in space?
Yeah...well, I had that moment yesterday. And all that ran through my mind is, "That Coyote is really a crazy clown..." with images of him standing there in mid air with that "How did this happen?" look before he went crashing to the ground.
Thankfully, my butt found it's seat prior to my entering the earth's atmosphere. Another trip to club dirt was not on my itinerary, thank you very much.
So what happened? Well, lets just say that Steve Holt! is a great deal more athletic than mustangs past. He was feeling fresh, and I didn't put the typical 40 minute warm up on him, so when it came time to start working on some turns in the round pen, he showed me what he could really do! I'm going to have to be on my toes with this guy. Or at least a little more firmly planted in the saddle.

Glad to hear your seat made it back into the saddle in time!
Steve Holt! has his ears all perked up cute, looks like he likes his new halter, just hope he doesn't get any broncy ideas from it!
Way to stay in the seat, cowgirl. The desire to stay in that saddle is a powerful thing. That desire can fight gravity and win!
Woohoo, rear in saddle is a good thing. Keep those heels down to pull you in. I tell kids that all the time. Good job.
Shew! Glad it was just a close call and not a dirt call! I agree with Katee, that desire to keep the butt planted sure can defeat gravity! :)

I can't believe you were thinking of that coyote as you were airborne! LOL
I've often though I might like some of that nice sticky stuff on the saddle seat would help keep my butt in the saddle....
And have you noticed that horses that start off with really nice lope also seem to come with the athletic ability to pitch a rider?
BTW I'm glad you found your seat back in the saddle where it belonged. We wouldn't want Steve Holt! to be getting any wise ideas.
Wheew...it's good to hear that is a "First" that you avoided. Steve Holt! flying lessons don't look like they'd be much fun!
Way to go stuntwoman, stay in that saddle ! Being slammed to the ground has certainly lost its appeal with me too. I find my backside simply looks and feels better when attached to the saddle...
Good job there girl...yep, the butt in the saddle is way better than butt in the dirt...or anywhere else!
Very nice Tracey. The saddle is the best place for any rider. Doing a nice job on him.
Let me know when you get that stop down and we can ride at black raven one night.
