Mustang Mauling

A woman was found mauled down by a pair of wild mustangs late yesterday afternoon. Apparently, she had been making an attempt to photograph the animals when they attacked. Images of the attack were captured on her digital camera.

Wild horse advocates warn that the general public is simply not aware of the dangers of befriending a mustang, that they are dangerous and can never be fully trusted. This is especially true if you are still carrying treats in your pocket intended for domestic horses.

Sounds like a lesson to be learned.

At first, I was horrified reading the account of the "mauling", (okay, ikm gullible) and confused by your pictures! Shortly, even I figured out the joke! What a fierce pair-- hee hee! Then, I LOVED it! Land sharks for treats, I see that clearly the light bulb has gone on over both their heads.

Did she live through the mauling and rise again to be mobbed another day? Great photos of the eyes. Looks like they are going to be pocket ponies.

Amazingly, she is up and running this morning. Not sure how she survived those randy little ladies! What a couple of characters. No chance of getting decent shots off of either one of them, I'm afraid, as they gravitate right to the camera lens the moment they see it.

"Take my picture!", is their battle cry.

Hmmmm. I know more about grizzley beats than horses being a member of the general public. :)
