Is it Summer yet?

Oh, how I long for lush mountain meadows, the warm sun shining down, butterflies floating seemingly with no purpose other than to simply be seen. You can almost smell the fresh air and scent of the blossoms, can't you? Do you remember it? The first of June when all was fresh and new.

June is also when Sandy began to shed his summer coat. Last year, it was July. This scares me. Last winter was full of snow and floods. I do not want that again. No, I do not. I want daisies growing year round, and a sky so blue Paul Newman's eyes would be jealous.

Yesterday the sky was cold, dreary, and full of wet rain clouds. I went outside to work the horses and got rained on. I came in side to dry out, wishing the rain would stop. It didn't. I went back outside and got wet again. I didn't like it. Not one little bit.

Two bright spots in the day were that my paddocks stayed dry, and I have someone interested in adopting Sky Bar. Very definite bright spots. Do you suppose if I focus on that, I won't feel the rain when I go outside today? Tell me, is it dry where you live?

Sorry Tracey, it's POURING here right now. Hoping for it to quite might help, but I've tried that before with varied results. It is supposed to stop later today or tomorrow though! :) Good luck with Chance!

Fingers crossed for the adoption. (At least as much as the right ones will cross right now.)

Yes, it is dry here. The sky is blue, the wind off the ocean laden with humidity, and the high today is expected to reach the low 80's. In fact, it has not been truly WET here since right before Sonny's incident, on Aug 23. A few sprinkles now and then, but the worst of the rains were north of us in the Atlanta area.

Hey- LOVE that pic of Darling. That came out fantastic!!

After a week of drizzly rain, the last three days have been beautiful - brilliant blue skies, temps in the 50s - but I'm afraid it's the last hurrah of summer. The forecast is for measurable snow in the Anchorage Bowl before the 10th. If they get snow, we'll get snow. Just hope that it's measurable and not plowable.

Wet here today, pouring rain since about 3 AM. First rain we've had in a long time, and I like it better than the snow they had a taste of over at Own A Morgan!

Love the picture you posted, it even looks dreamy! Wet, cool, and nothing but rain here - for over a week now...

Its been damp, grey and rainy here all week. Add the horrific headcold I have and that means pretty much no pony time :(
The rain has stopped, for now, but when I woke up and saw how GREY the sky was my first thought was "yup, that's a winter sky".
I love living somewhere were there are four distinct, true seasons however this year we got a bit ripped off in the summer department. On the plus side Environment Canada is predicting that this winter won't be as terribly cold as last years.

Fingers crossed, knock on wood, prayers sent that the adoption works out for SB :)

ps - did you ever discover why you went Greek with that 1st post title? ;)

I so hear you Tracey!! The rain is miserable! I hear it is going to be sunny and back into the 60's next week, though! That will be perfect!
So happy to hear that someone is interested in SkyBar. Hope it works out!

It's partly cloudy down here in Seattle. Actually, a really nice day outside. If I had a horse it would be perfect riding weather - not too hot or too cold.

dry today very cold, windy and broken clouds.... although its calling for snow over the weekend. Yesterday was the best day of the week, 60 degrees and breezy.... hoping for a late indian summer.

Well, if finally cleared up here. Just in time for the sun to set and the moon to take it's stand in the night sky.

Canadian Cowgirl, it's all Greek to me, lol! If I recall, I was trying to use babelfish to translate Horse Fever...somehow I goofed!
